Dr. Robert Sobol and the Team at Brown University have published-TRIP12’s role in the governance of DNA polymerase β involvement in DNA damage response and repair

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is proud to share this new paper that took many years to complete. Importantly, this study found that the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRIP12 targets POLB for ubiquitylation and degradation. Further, we found that TRIP12 functions as a DNA repair regulator, facilitating DNA repair pathway crosstalk between the BER (POLB) and the DSB repair (HR) pathways in response to radiation.
