Wafik S. El-Deiry was re-elected as the chair of the WIN Consortium in Precision Oncology.
El-Deiry is the director of the Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University, associate dean for oncologic sciences at the Warren Alpert Medical School, and an American Cancer Society Research Professor.
The WIN Consortium offers a global platform for innovation, collaboration, and impact in precision oncology. Its mission is to significantly improve survival for cancer patients worldwide through international cooperation, cutting-edge clinical studies, and educational initiatives such as the WIN Symposium series.
“It’s a real honor and privilege for me to be re-elected by my peers and to continue the legacy of my predecessors as we take precision oncology to greater heights to benefit patients,” El-Deiry said in a statement. “The late Dr. John Mendelsohn who founded and led the WIN Consortium in cancer personalized medicine had the right motivation, vision for innovation, collaboration and global impact. That vision is as important today as it ever was and needs to be better realized. The WIN Consortium invites the community to reach out to collaborate and interact with an incredibly talented and growing community.”
