Division of Laboratory Medicine

The Division of Laboratory Medicine provides comprehensive, high-complexity, multispecialty diagnostic pathology services for two largest healthcare systems in the state: Lifespan Health and Care New England Health. The Division is staffed by nationally recognized pathologists with expertise and experience in their subspecialty areas. Through extensive clinical work and multidisciplinary translational research in genomics, bioinformatics and digital pathology, we provide integrated state-of-the art diagnostic service for our patients and Brown communities.

The Division has processed over 72,000 surgical specimens,79,000 cytology specimens and 290 autopsies in 2023.
